SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Periods of light snow and flurries will continue off and on through mid-afternoon. Accumulations will be on the light side but there will still be a few slippery spots out there. Most areas will pick up a coating to an inch, tops. In fact, areas close to the Vermont border will likely just see a few flakes.
If your travels take you into Connecticut, the snow will be a little heavier and where Winter Weather Advisories are in effect. Hartford to coastal Connecticut could pick up about 3 or 4″ of snow. This storm will move out this evening then here comes the Arctic Cold!
The cold air filters in for tomorrow through Friday with temperatures staying at or below freezing the entire time! Dry weather is expected for the rest of the week with the exception of a stray flurry or snow shower tomorrow night or Thursday as the Arctic air surges in. High temperatures tomorrow will be near 30 and will only make it into the middle 20′s on Thursday. Wind Chills on Thursday will stay in the single numbers!
Our next storm threat will arrive late in the day or at night on Saturday. Right now it looks as though snow will move in then perhaps change to sleet, freezing rain and then possible rain into Sunday morning. Stay tuned!
