Burger King Delivery Begins in Western Massachusetts

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) — Your favorite burgers and fries are coming to your doorstep. Burker King has begun home delivery of their flamed broiled goodness and the intitial rollout includes select B.K.’s in Western Mass.

“It’s something burger king has been working on for 6 to 9 months so they finally approached us felt the springfield market had a lot of potential for delivery service,” said Stan Paulauskas, Burger King Franchisee.

But potential and promise are two different things and Burger King franchise owner Stan Paulauskas had a few reservations

“My biggest concern was you know we make our product right on the spot for our guests in the restaurants, but now we are going to to take it out of the store will it hold up will the quality be there,” wondered Paulauskas.

Problem solved thanks to a unique packaging method; two sided containers that keep the bun and condiments cold and the meat piping hot. Couple that with thermal delivery bags and a limited delivery radius and B.K. cracked the burger transit code

“You can order milk shakes, sodas pretty much all our sandwhiches our fried products and everything is made when the driver is ready to go,” said Paulauskas.

There is a $10 minimum order and a $2 delivery charge, half of which goes to the driver, who can earn extra money with tips. But with dangerous winter weather, it’s a gametime decision

“We’ve kind a storm coming into saturday night into sunday our managers can make the call that if it looks really bad we certainly dont want to put our drivers at risk so what would happen they would deactivate our delivery service,” Paulauskas said.

For fast food afficionados, getting your whopper without leaving your couch is a delicious holiday gift.
