Hampden Fire Crews Respond to House Fire

House FireHAMPDEN,  Mass. (WGGB) – Hampden firefighters responded to a house fire on 185 North Monson Rd. Friday night.

The fire was knocked down around 7:30.

The Monson Fire Department was requested for mutual aid in putting the fire out.

The fire was first reported as a chimney fire, but it was later discovered there was a dwelling burning at the same address.

Hampden asked Monson Police to close the nearby roads to allow crews to work.

There was no visible damage to the exterior of the house, but there is no official word on the damages or potential injuries.
