U.S. Senator Calls on UPS to Refund Customers

upsHARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal is calling on UPS Inc. to refund customers whose packages didn’t arrive on time for Christmas.

The Democrat said Thursday he was disappointed after learning consumers in Connecticut and across the country were quoted arrival dates before the holiday “but instead were left empty-handed.”

UPS spokeswoman Natalie Black said air and international customers who didn’t receive their packages on time are entitled to a refund under its service agreements.

Such guarantees, however, were suspended for ground packages shipped after Dec. 10.

Black said a small percentage of packages were delayed due to numerous factors, including an air network that exceeded its capacity, poor weather and a shortened Christmas shopping season.

One of UPS’s biggest customers, Amazon.com, said it was refunding shipping charges and giving affected customers a $20 credit toward future purchases.

Funny how the two biggest private carriers pretty much got overwhelmed, but the USPS didn’t seem effected at all. I guess the USPS has been doing it long enough to be prepared for anything. I must admit their service is improving tremendously since they started their advertising blitz about improving service. All they need is honesty in times. If it’s two day, deliver it in two, not three or four. But just don’t look us in the face and say “well 2 day is really 3 day, and 3 day is 4 dys” etc.

Here we go bullying by the US government

The government has no business pushing businesses around.

Why don’t they at least make an effort to be ‘representatives’ and impeach Barry already?!

Typical for them to distract from the real issues by talking about irrelevant issues that they are not responsible for. Get back to work or you’re fired Senator.

Anyone else shocked that he’s a Democrat? Nope.
