Holyoke Police Search for Armed Robber who Held Up PeoplesBank

Dashawn WilliamsHOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — Police in Holyoke are searching for a bank robber who held up the PeoplesBank on Hampden and Pleasant Street at gunpoint this morning.

According to Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert the suspect, Dashawn Williams, age 28 of Holyoke/Springfield, held up the bank just before 9:30 a.m. today.

He is described as a tall male, 5’7 to 5’10. He allegedly walked into the PeoplesBank and holding a black handgun passed a note to the teller demanding cash.

Witnesses report he was wearing a dark blue puffy winter coat, and he had on a blue and gray baseball cap.

Lt. Albert says the man was able to make off with an undisclosed amount of cash and may have been assisted by a female who was operating a yellow Camaro with a partial plate of “4050..”
