Springfield police arrest robbery suspect

010114 robbery arrest Springfield, Mass. (WGGB) — Springfield police today arrested a man wanted on suspicion of armed robbery Thursday. Sargent John Delaney says 41 year old Todd Trainor was arrested at about 11:25 this morning on a warrant.

The robbery happened on December 26th, in the Darker Image, a tanning salon on Island Pond Road. The clerk told police a man had come in with a knife, threatened her and demanded money. He took about $200 from the register and took off in a green Honda Odyssey. Three witnesses in a neighboring business were able to get a partial license plate number and description of the suspect. Springfield Detectives led an extensive investigation and determined Trainor was the subject who robbed the store.

Trainor is scheduled to be arraigned today in Springfield District Court.
