A Brief Burst of Snow then get Ready for a Big Thaw!
Another quick burst of snow is moving through now but will be out just as quickly as it moves in. We could pick up a quick coating in a few spots to perhaps even a half an inch. Temperatures later on will reach into the middle 30′s and any snow will melt away.
We are still tracking a storm for tomorrow and tomorrow night but with it will come heavy rain, windy and warm temperatures! Rain will push in late tonight or early tomorrow morning as some patches of drizzle and spotty light rain. The occasional light rain will continue into the lunch-time and then become steadier and heavier tomorrow afternoon. The rain will be heavy at times into the late evening before shutting off near or just after midnight.
Potential rain totals are silll between 1-2″ which should be enough (combined with snowmelt and some snow-blocked storm drains) to trigger another round of ponding/minor street flooding late tomorrow into tomorrow night. There could even be a few rumbles of thunder! Temperatures will spike well up into the 50′s while the rain falls tomorrow afternoon and evening. The record high for tomorrow, Jaunuary 11th, is currently is 58 degrees. All rain and melting snow and ice could also lead to some more ice jam flooding on area rivers.
Sunday is looking nice. There will be no rush of Arctic air behing this storm. It will be dry under mostly sunny skies. A gusty wind Sunday morning will diminish a bit during the afternoon. Highs Sunday will be in the cooler40s but still mild for January! Monday it will be even milder with sunshine and temperatures reaching back, perhaps into the 50′s! Could someone see 60 over the next few day? YES!!!
Patriot’s Game: It will be rainy, windy and mild for the game. Temperatures will be into the middle and upper 50s’ with gusty winds. There may even be a rumble of thunder!
Have a great day!
