One Dead Following Car Crash into Pittsfield High School

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Emergency crews are on the scene of a serious crash in Pittsfield.

Pittsfield Police Sgt. Mark Lenihan says that officers were called out to Pittsfield High School at 300 East Street around 2:45 p.m.

Lenihan adds that there were two men in the 2013 Nissan Altima, which was a rental car from Hertz.

Both men were transported to Berkshire Medical with what he describes as serious, life-threatening injuries.

Pittsfield Mayor Daniel Bianchi confirms to ABC40 that one person has died from the crash.

Nobody else in the area was injured.

ABC40 has a crew at the scene and will have the latest information as it becomes available.
