Mass. RMV Chief Named to Post in Patrick Cabinet

BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick is naming Registrar of Motor Vehicles Rachel Kaprielian to serve as state Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development.

Kaprielian will replace Joanne Goldstein, who is leaving the administration for a post at Northeastern University.

Goldstein has served in the cabinet job since 2010.

Patrick lauded Kaprielian for improving customer service within the Registry of Motor Vehicles. He cited the opening of new RMV branches and the expansion of online services.

Kaprielian was appointed registrar in 2008. She had previously served seven terms in the state House of Representatives.

Can you believe the most incompetent service agency in the State has its chief promoted. Incompetence breeds in competence. To top it off she is in charge of Labor. The model will be the lowest productively can you can attain.

You’re right, they should have appointed you. I can tell you’d be much better at customer service.
