Arctic Air Returns for your Sunday
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Arctic air is working its way back into the area as the cold front that brought the light snowfall to the region yesterday continues to move off shore. As it pulls away it is bringing in another blast of bitter cold air with wind chills back down below zero. There is a Wind Chill Advisory in effect for Berkshire county from 1 AM until Noon on Sunday and for Franklin, Western Hampshire and Western Hampden counties from 2 AM until 11 AM Sunday morning. Overall we can expect a mixture of sun and clouds for your Sunday. It will be breezy and very cold with high temperatures in the mid-teens but with the wind chills it will feel like it is near to below zero.
As a weak clipper system approaches the region tonight clouds will be on the increase and there is the chance of a few snow showers tonight. Temperatures will actually be on the rise tonight and by dawn temperatures will be approaching 30 degrees. The chance for a few snow showers continues into Monday morning with temperatures in the low 30′s but those temperatures do not stick around all that long. In fact temperatures fall back into the single digits for Monday night as more arctic air works back into the region and this colder air sticks around till later in the week with daytime highs in the teens to low 20′s and night-time lows in the single digits to near zero.
Have a great day!
