BOSTON (WGGB) — A recent interview with Red Sox slugger David Ortiz has many fans thinking there may be trouble in paradise.

Big Papi says he wants a long-term deal from the Red Sox. If no such deal comes from the Red Sox, he is prepared to “move on.”

In an interview with CBS4 in Boston, the 38 year-old called 2013 a perfect season, but added that baseball is a business and he needs to be prepared to do what is best for him and his family.

Ortiz made no ultimatum, but expressed willingness to entertain a move to a different team.

There is still one year remaining on the two-year, $30 million contract extension Ortiz signed with the Red Sox during the last off-season.

He hit 30 home runs and drove in more than 100 runs for Boston in 2013 on their way to a World Series Title.

Ortiz says he’s not sure how much longer he’ll play, but expects the Red Sox to offer him a long-term contract.
