Longtime Leader of Tapestry Health Announces Resignation
FLORENCE, Mass. (WGGB) — Leslie Tarr Laurie, the longtime leader of Tapestry Health, has announced her resignation.
In a statement from Tapestry Health, it notes that “With the new Board of Directors’ leadership and a new path for continued success, she has decided it is a fitting time to resign.”
Laurie founded the organization forty years ago as the Family Planning Council of Western Massachusetts. Back then, it was focused on women’s reproductive health.
The organization has evolved over time to become Tapestry Health. While continuing to provide family planning and reproductive health services, Tapestry has expanded to provide HIV/AIDS counseling and testing, WIC and nutrition services, and needle exchange programs.
Laurie’s resignation takes effect this Saturday, February 1.
