Although the game will be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, many fans still wanted to take in the atmosphere of the Super Bowl activities in the big city.
Fans sporting their team’s colors were all over, looking to stock up for the Super Bowl. And for many, that gear isn’t cheap.
Grand Slam New York in Times Square was jam packed on Saturday.
“I think it’s very good for us,” said Grand Slam owner John Palha, “because it’s January, and in January the business is very slow, but with the Super Bowl we get a lot of people from out of town. And we get some good business with is.”
But for fans who have made the trip from out west to see their team’s play in the big game, the cost was not a factor.
“We bought all of what you see here,” said father Chris Frazier, showing off the merchandise for he and his family. “we’re prepared to spend more, I suppose.”
While most of it is NFL-sanctioned merchandise, but there are some cheaper options in the way of bootleg merchandise across the city.
So far, Palha says the Broncos gear is out-selling Seahawks gear.
