Celtics Start February with 96-89 Win Over Magic
BOSTON (WGGB) — There was only one game on the NBA schedule on Super Bowl Sunday. The Boston Celtics outlasted the Orlando Magic 96-89, hoping to give their fans something to cheer about, without the Patriots in the big game.
Both teams have struggled of late, but the Celtics offense looked sharp early. They got 19 points and 10 assists from point guard Rajon Rondo to hold off a late push by the Magic.
It was the final match-up between the two teams this season. With the win, the Celtics improved to 3-1 against Orlando this year.
The much-needed win starts the Celtics off on the right foot in February, after going 2-15 in the month of January.
