SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Darius Johnson-Odom paced his team with 18 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds and Jeff Foote added 20 points and 13 rebounds as the Armor held off a late rally from the Bayhawks to notch a 104-98 victory. It is the first three-game win streak for the team since February 20-26 last season.
Springfield lead by as many as 20 in the first quarter and by fifteen at the break. The Armor would open up the second half surging, as well, on a 15-6 run extending the advantage to 74-50 with 5:36 on the clock in the third quarter. Erie’s CJ Leslie would catch fire, however, notching 10 points in a 19-5 run to close the quarter, cutting the deficit to nine.
The Bayhawks would extend the run to 29-5 after Leslie’s layup tied the contest at 79 with 9:19 remaining. The Armor would regain the edge with a 13-4 run, one they would not give up, after Quinn McDowell knocked down a three to make it 92-83.
Leslie lead all scorers with a career-high 31 points. The Armor return to action Friday, February 7 at Maine.
