Three UMass Students Hit by Car On-Campus

Police-Pedestrian killed

AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB) –  Three female UMass students were hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk Monday night.

The incident happened just after 6:00 p.m. on Commonwealth Avenue, just north of the recreation center, which is across from the Mullins Center.

Two of the victims were attended to on the scene by paramedics. One was transported to Cooley Dickinson with a head injury.

All injuries are being described as non-life-threatening.

The operator of the vehicle was not a student at the college.

The accident is currently under investigation and charges for the driver are pending.
