Crash Knocks Out Power to Portion of Boston Road

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — In springfield, a car accident knocked out power to about 500 customers for time Wednesday afternoon.

Around 1:30 p.m., a car slammed into a telephone pole, which caused it to spark and catch fire.

Fire crews waited for Western Mass. Electric to turn off the power before they could put out the fire.
