Falcons Top Crunch 4-2, Win Second Straight


FalconsNEWSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – The Springfield Falcons snapped their five game losing streak on Tuesday, shutting out the Albany Devils.

They were looking to keep it going Friday night at the MassMutual Center, taking on the Syracuse Crunch.

The Falcons came out hot about midway through the first period. Lukas scored the first goal of the game about 13 minutes into the period. That was followed by an unassisted goal from Jack Skille with four minutes left in the frame.

Springfield netminder Mike McKenna made 27 saves on 29 shots, while Crunch goaltender Allen York, who played for the Falcons a season ago, stopped 23 of 27 shots.

The Falcons would stay ahead for the rest of the game. They would go on to win it 4 to 2.
