Teachers Get Hands-On Training at Education Technology Conference

TEACHER TECHNOLOGYSPRINGFIELD (WGGB) — Springfield teachers got hands-on training in a variety of classroom technology Saturday, as part of the first-ever Public School Education Technology Conference.

The event welcomed teachers from across the district, in hopes of showing them some of the best ways to use technology to advance their lesson plans and help students learn.

“Today’s conference is showcasing teachers learning how to use iPads in their classrooms, how to use different learning management tools in their classrooms. They’re also learning about Google apps,” said organizer Jackie Clini. “It’s all to increase the use of technology among our students here in Springfield.”

Teachers also learned about an online portal, through which students can track their learning materials. Springfield schools hope to implement learning software within the coming year.

This would allow students who are home sick to keep up with their school work. It would also help students who are transitioning to a different school and allow them to seamlessly track their progress.
