SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — We are waking up to a mixture of sun and clouds out there this morning. The clouds kept temperatures from becoming as cold as they were yesterday morning. We will see some sun this morning but the sun will not last very long. By this afternoon clouds will be increasing as a weak system approaches from the Great Lakes. There is the slight chance of an afternoon snow flurry or snow shower but I think most areas will be dry. Highs today will run in the low to mid 20s.
As we head into this evening we will see some steady, light snow to develop and continue into tonight. The snow will come to an end after midnight and leave us with a coating to as much as 2″ of snow. Lows tonight will run in the low to mid teens.
After this weak system moves away, it will go back to being dry and cold for Monday through the middle of next week. The next storm threat of either snow or rain arrives along sometime late Thursday or early Friday.
Have a great day!
