LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) – L.Y.A. Academy in Longmeadow recently tested their engineering abilities by placing hand built structures on a shake table, simulating an earthquake. The goal for the kids was to design the tallest freestanding structure that could with stand the strongest earthquake, and sustain the greatest amount of weight placed on top of it before collapsing. The project engaged the students and got them using their math and science skills.
