It put a damper on a February hot streak, that saw Springfield win 5 of their previous 6 games coming into Tuesday, including a victory over the Red Claws in Maine on the 7th.
Maine, however, was up to the task offensively at the MassMutual center. They built a 16-point first quarter lead, to close the period up 31-20.
The Armor battled back on the shoulders of Larry Anderson, who scored a career-high 21 points.
Anderson brought the Armor to within two points in the final minute. However, a last-second shot fell short and the Armor couldn’t get the tying bucket.
They lose it 113-111 to close the first half of their season with a record of 11 and 19, good for fourth place in the NBDL’s East Division. Eight games out of first place is a relative success, for a team who started the season by losing 9 out of their first 10 games.
The Armor will be on the break until Monday, February 17th when they host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
