WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – It’s the perfect day to tie the knot. Today, two lucky couples were doing just that – free of charge.
For Gary and Tracey Lamoureux today was a long time coming. After being together for 11 years, their wedding Friday took just over 11 minutes.
“We’ve been meaning to get married we just never got around to it. Well, we finally got around to it,” joked Tracey Lamoureux.
Gary and Tracey were one lucky couple who won a complimentary wedding ceremony at Storrowton Village.
Contestants were asked to submit a photo and an essay on why they wanted to be married here in Storrowton Village. For Gary and Tracey that inspiration came from Tracey’s mom, Mary Bennett.
“Well I’m glad, ’cause he’s a nice guy and they finally did it,” Mary said.
“My mother met my father back in the 40′s at Riverside Skating Rink and they used to go to Storrowton Tavern when they were dating. And she’s been bugging us for quite a long time to get married so here we are,” explained Tracey.
“About time too,” Mary added.
Gary and Tracey’s wedding was followed by another couple’s who also won a free wedding today. We at ABC40 want to wish both couples the very best.
Winners of the “Valentine Vows in the Village” Contest each received a ceremony at the Meetinghouse including the services of a wedding planner, justice of the peace, decorations and music.
Following their ceremony, the couples enjoyed a luncheon provided by Storrowton Tavern.
