Red Sox Begin Spring Training, as Pitchers and Catchers Report
Pitchers and catchers have reported to Red Sox camp down in Fort Myers, Florida.
It was a leisurely Saturday start to Spring Training at JetBlue Park, but the focus quickly turned to injuries for some starters.
Jake Peavey briefly left the compound, after addressing his finger injury early Saturday. He was hit with a baseball, but says he is fine and will likely be considered day-to-day.
Red Sox manager John Farrell says he’s focusing on rebuilding a stellar rotation for 2014. “Spring Training is always about pitching,” Ferrell said. “We feel like we have a framework that takes into account the extra month of work.”
