UMass Hockey Falls to #7 UMass Lowell

40-Umass logoLOWELL, Mass. (WGGB) – It was UMass taking on UMass on Friday night as the Minutemen headed east to take on #7 UMass Lowell.

The Minutemen were able to battle back from a 2 goal deficit, but Lowell scored the game winning point with only one tenth of a second remaining. UMass Amherst would fall 3-2.

The loss leaves UMass at 8-18-4 overall, 4-10-3 in Hockey East, while the River Hawks move to 20-7-3 overall and 10-4-2 in league play.

Some good news for the Minutemen, however, as senior Conor Sheary logged his 8th goal of the season, and 100th career goal on the night.

UMass will be back in action tomorrow night, Feb. 15, playing host to #12 Northeastern at 7:00 p.m. in the Mullins Center.
