More Snow then a Pattern Change!

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – It will be bright and sunny this afternoon but also cold! Temperatures will stay mainly in the 20’s for highs. There will be a pesky breeze too, making it feel colder than the actual temperature. Winds will diminish tonight as clouds increase later on.

Yes, more snow is on the way for tomorrow.  A clipper system with lots of energy, across the Mid-West now, will slide east, gather some Atlantic moisture and bring us snow, starting during the morning commute.  The snow will be light in the morning and may even have a difficult time sticking to the streets however the snow will pick up in intensity during the afternoon and even become moderate to  briefly heavy, into the evening commute!

Greater Springfield and much of the valley will pick up 3-5″ of sticky snow with the highest amounts across the higher terrain, where the snow will have an easier time accumulating.  There is some good news! Temperatures will start to go up by the middle of the week with a big warm-up on the way! Hang in there, by Wednesday readings will be close to 40 and by Friday temperatures will shoot into the 50’s!! A big melt down is on the way!

Have a great day!

Dan Brown
