HYANNIS, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a Hyannis man used a shovel to attack a store owner who was clearing a parking area outside of his apartment with a snow blower.

WCVB-TV reports that Barnstable police Sgt. Thomas Toomey says that 55-year-old William Kaouette was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after the alleged attack around 3 a.m. Sunday outside of his apartment.

He will be arraigned Tuesday. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.

Toomey says Kaouette saw the store owner blowing snow onto his car and started screaming. Toomey says he then said he wanted to help, but instead attacked the owner with a shovel.

The victim declined medical treatment.

Well now Claire, if he had said “can I have that shovel to whack you upside your stupid head?” do you think he would have given it to him?. I doubt it. I think I would be pretty PO’ed too if I saw some clown blowing snow all over my car. I don’t think I would express my thoughts with a shovel, but I would not be very happy about it.

I had a real jurk for a neighbor. He had a control problem and a short-man issue, and he used to get up at 1am and be out there at 2am until 6am blowing snow. He used to laugh and laugh about how funny it was, but he had to leave for work at 6am, so he had to start early! And the pathetic little man would grow an inch he was so proud he could irritate the whole neighborhood and disturb everyone.

The town plow leaves me a present in my driveway entrance during every snow event and then covers up access to my rural mail box. With all the snow we’ve have this Winter, the snow depth by the mail boxes is almost six feet high so there’s no place to put the snow except back out in the street.

MADE ME LOOK! It’s parked next to my former boat, now called Mt Snowmore.

That’s not funny Rod. This country needs to BAN shovels. It is obvious to most of us that present shovel laws are not enough, and ineffective.
