UMass Men’s Basketball Gets Votes in AP Poll, Remains Unranked

UMassNEW

AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB) — The UMass men’s basketball program appears to still be part of the Associated Press Top 25 discussions.

The latest poll released Monday shows that the Minutemen received nine votes. However, it was not enough to get themselves back in to the Top 25.

UMass had been ranked for ten weeks this season, with their highest ranking of #13 in late January. However, loses to St. Bonaventure and St. Joseph’s would knock them off the list in early February.

However, recent wins against conference opponents VCU and George Washington has UMass garnering some votes and discussion from the writers.

The Minutemen are now 21-5 overall on season, and third in the Atlantic 10 conference at 8-4.

UMass’ next game is Wednesday night at the Mullins Center against the Rams from the University of Rhode Island.
