West Springfield Expresses Concerns About Casino in Springfield

Casino LobbyWEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) —  There were casino concerns in West Springfield Friday night as community leaders game-planned for their big meeting with the gaming commission.

City leaders who were concerned about the potential impact a Springfield casino may have in West Side were preparing for Monday’s meeting with the commission where they plan to address their concerns.

“We will have considerable traffic concerns, considerable housing concerns, schools will be impacted, small businesses will be impacted,” said City Councilor, Brian Griffin.

Monday’s meeting will be held at West Springfield Middle School at 5:15 PM.
