ABC40 Honor Roll – Students Jump for the Heart

AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB) – Students at the Robinson Park Elementary School in Agawam participated in “Jump Rope for the Heart.” The kids have been taking part in the tradition for the past four years.

In gym class, students jump rope, are encouraged to stay active and are also encouraged to collect money for The American Heart Association. Teachers promised the kids that if they raise enough money they would have the opportunity to squirt their gym teacher with silly string and that the two top kids to donate from each grade would be able to throw pies in his face.

The students raised seven thousand, four hundred, twenty dollars, breaking last years record of three thousand, five hundred. All of the money will go directly to The American Heart Association.
