Gaming Commission to Hold Public Input Meeting on Proposed MGM Springfield Casino
WEST SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) — Just after rejecting proposals from two West Springfield businesses that were hoping to be considered impacted live venues for a propsed MGM Springfield casino and resort, the state’s Gaming Commission will hold a public forum in the town Monday.
The meeting will address concerns of surrounding communities for the proposed casino. They’re inviting the public to make comments and express their concerns about how the surrounding community would be impacted.
Those who are interested can submit written comments via email, or address commission officials at Monday’s meeting.
However, the commission says they are not looking to hear from those who are opposed to a casino in western Mass. altogether, as that will not be the issue at hand during this forum.
The meeting will be held at West Springfield Middle School at 4:00 p.m. Each speaker will be given up to five minutes, and the meeting will last until all residents who are interested in speaking have finished.
