Read Across America in Springfield

Read to Succeed

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WGGB) — – School children across the country are celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss by reading out loud. Twenty-five American International College students visited Springfield’s Rebecca Johnson School Monday to read to the students there. Sophomore Tyler Gaynor says that reading and books have always been a big part of her life and that visiting the Johnson school sends a clear message to children that reading is fun and important. She says, “You pick something interesting, something that has a good story, something that will draw the kids in. Because, telling a story, that’s reading.”

Link to Libraries provided books to the Johnson School students. They’ll be able to take those books home with them.
