ABC40 Honor Roll Live: Holyoke Catholic

CHICOPEE (WGGB) — The Gaels of Holyoke Catholic started the day off right on Honor Roll Live on 40 in the Morning Friday.

The small student body made a big impression, as they welcomed Brittany Decker and the ABC40 crew to their school.

Their students showed off a ton of impressive talents, from music, to sports, to academics, and community work. Plus, a lot of school spirit.

So many qualities that make this High School stand out. For one, Holyoke Catholic is in Chicopee.

“It’s probably the only school in the valley that’s been in 3 sites in 12 years,” says Principal, Theresa Kitchell.

The school focuses on both academics and faith. There is a chapel inside where students can go any pray.

“During life they should FROG-it; that is “fully rely on God,” says Sr. Marlene Mucha.

There are 276 students total at the school and almost all were in attendance at the ABC40 pep-rally this morning. There were members of Student Council, National Honor Society, and the performing arts, sports teams and the Green Team.

“Our ‘go’ is to create a more sustainable and greener campus,” says Green Team member, Samira You.

It is a worldly group at the High School that think about others and beyond boundaries of classroom walls.

A group of students came from China just to attend the High School here with hopes of attending an American University in the future.

“The spirit you see here this morning is typical of Holyoke Catholic,” says Kitchell.
