As Spring Begins Things will Become More “Spring-Like”

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – It’s finally arrived! Spring is here.  As spring arrives the weather will improve. Clouds will give way to some sunshine as temperatures warm up. Readings will reach into the lower 50′s! The clouds will try to fill back in later on as a cold front moves our way and there may even be a few spot showers. However, this afternoon will still be nice. Any showers that moves through will not last long.

The cooler air will settle in overnight with temperatures down into the 20′s. The breeze will make it feel even cooler. Tomorrow will end up being about 10 degrees cooler than today with highs in the lower 40′s under a mixture of sunshine and clouds.

For the big weekend ahead in Holyoke: A weak system will head our way for Saturday morning.  This means a few scattered rain showers or mixed showers will arrive early Saturday morning and last just a few hours before ending later in the morning.  Highs Saturday will reach into the lower 50′s, as the sun makes an appearance during the afternoon.  Conditions should be fine for the race and after race festivities.  Clouds clear Saturday night as it turns brisk and cooler.  For the parade we can expect a chilly day with more clouds moving in during the afternoon. There may even be a bit of wet snow during or after the parade!  Stay tuned!  either way, it will become blustery during the day with highs near 40 but the breeze will make it feel cooler! Dress warm if you are heading to the parade!

Have a great day!
