Holyoke Boy Doing Okay After Being Shot in Forehead With BB Gun
Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert told ABC 40 police were called down to Kelly Elementary School just before 6:00 PM to follow up on a report of a student that was hit in the forehead with a BB gun. The boy was sitting on a school bus with 11 other children heading home, looking out the open window when he observed two teenage kids in an alley way where the bus was passing. The boy said he thought he saw a BB rifle in one of the teenager’s hands. The next thing he knew he got shot in the middle of his forehead with a BB.
He sustained minor injuries, as the BB broke the skin, but was not transported by ambulance to a hospital.
A patrol man stayed with the bus throughout the remainder of its route.
Kelly Elementary, the Chief of Police, Criminal Investigations Bureau and Mayor Alex Morse are all aware of the incident and are looking out for this boy and following up on the case.
Police officials were not able to apprehend the suspects and are asking the public to call them with any information they have regarding this case at 536-6431.
