Gaming Commission Chairman Visits MGM Springfield Casino Site

MGM-Hotel-Tower(SPRINGFIELD, Mass.) (WGGB)–Members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission came to Springfield on Friday to view the site of the proposed MGM casino in the city’s South End.

MGM is proposing to build an 800-million dollar casino project.

The gaming commission is holding public  hearings in the area to gather public input on the project.

On Friday, commission members got a chance to see the project up close,”I think all along we have felt this is really an interesting project, they have been very creative in trying to figure out how to make a multi-use project, not just a casino, it’s really a multi-dimensional effort to revitalize an urban community.

Gaming Commission Chairman Stephen Crosby called the MGM casino proposal an ambitious and impressive project.
