Increasing Sunshine and Breezy This Afternoon

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) —  We had been dealing with mostly cloudy skies during the first part of the day and even had a few light showers move through the area but the good news is as we progress through the afternoon skies should become mostly sunny.  It will also become quite breezy with southwest winds between 10-15 mph.  At least it is a mild breeze and will help temperatures rise into the low to mid 50s this afternoon.

Saturday night is quiet as it turns brisk and cooler.  For the parade we can expect a very chilly day with a mix of sun and clouds during the morning with a possible flurry as an Arctic cold front crosses.  Behind the front it turns sunny but blustery during the afternoon and evening as the colder air pours in!  Highs Sunday now look like they stay in the 30s with wind chills stuck in the 20s throughout the day!  Our taste of Winter continues into Monday with daytime highs only in the mid 20s.

We continue to track the possibility of a coastal storm as we head toward the middle of the week.  It is still several days away and the track remains uncertain but right now it looks like the brunt of the storm would be felt to the east but we will be fine tuning the forecast over the next several days so stay tuned.

Have a great day,
