Bouncer Hospitalized After Nightclub Stabbing, Suspect Arrested

SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) – A bouncer at a Springfield nightclub was taken to the hospital early Sunday morning after he was stabbed.

Springfield Police responded to the Aquarius nightclub on State Street just before 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

The bouncer was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he is in stable condition.

Police were able to make an arrest in the stabbing, after they stopped a car a short distance from the scene.

Davey Pagan, 34, of Springfield has been charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute (Oxycodone).

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney adds that officers reportedly found that Pagan had blood on his body and a bloody knife was recovered from the car. He adds that officers also found a camera film container with 11 Oxycodone pills on his person when he was at the police station.

Pagan is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Springfield District Court.
