Crater-like Pothole in Westfield Creates Problem for Local Couple

westfield potholeWESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – More pothole problems plaguing Western Mass., this time in Westfield.

Richard Fontaine had to replace the CV joint on his Ford Explorer after he hit the pothole just before turning into his driveway.

He and his wife Barbara have lived on Notre Dame Street since 1998 and they said this is the worst they have ever seen the road; not to mention the road is fairly new.

“I mean for a road that’s only about seven to eight years old, I have never seen the road this bad,” he said.

His wife made calls to Westfield DPW regarding the pothole and was told their street would be added to the ever-growing list of pothole fixtures.
