WASHINGTON, D.C. (WGGB) – President Obama hosted the 2013 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox at the White House Tuesday.

The President thanked the Sox for symbolizing the resiliency of a city and a nation following the Boston Marathon bombings.

David Ortiz presented President Obama with a #44 jersey.

The entire ceremony is attached.

The Sox lost their season opener to the Orioles Monday 2-1. They’re in Baltimore Tuesday and Wednesday. Their home opener at Fenway is Friday.
