A+E Orders Reality Series Married at First Sight

A&E

A+E has given a series order to Married at First Sight, a reality show that will follow six strangers who have agreed to get legally married the moment they meet their partner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

An adaptation of a Danish format, Married features four specialists who use scientific matching to find three perfect couples, who will first meet when they walk down the aisle. The 10-episode series will chronicle their early days together, culminating a few weeks later with the couple deciding whether or not to stay together.

14 celebrities with alter egos

Married at First Sight’s experimental format is hardly unique. Fox, in particular, has aired several unconventional dating shows, including Joe Millionaire, Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire? and  Married By America, which featured five people getting engaged on the spot to strangers voted on by America.

Married at First Sight will premiere later this year.
