Two Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop Along I-84
STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WGGB) — Two men are under arrest on drug charges following a traffic stop early Thursday morning.
Mass. State Police say that around 1:45 a.m. Thursday, troopers pulled over a car along I-84 in Sturbridge.
During the course of that traffic stop, troopers reportedly determined that the driver, identified as 31-year-old Angel Robles of Lowell, was not properly licensed to drive in Massachusetts and was taken into custody.
State Police add they found that the passenger, 31-year-old Julio Diaz Morales from the state of Florida, was also allegedly not properly licensed and couldn’t drive the vehicle.
Troopers searched the car and found a package of white powder, which was determined to be 135 grams of cocaine, inside the vehicle.
Robles is facing charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to inspect, trafficking cocaine, and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.
Morales is also facing charges of trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.
The pair were held pending their arraignment today in Dudley District Court.
