Springfield Celebrates Public Health

spfld public healthSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) –April is Public Health Month in Springfield. This morning, the city celebrated with a kick-off event at City Hall.

From reducing teen pregnancies and infant mortality to increasing the number of children who are immunized, the Springfield Department of Health and Human Services has an ambitious agenda this month.

“The city of Springfield has many challenges as far as public health is concerned, but the opportunities and the collaborations in this community are wonderful, so I’m always very proud of the work done by Public Health and the city of Springfield,” says Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris.
