Mass. Woman Charged in Apple Attack
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — A Framingham woman is facing charges after prosecutors say she pelted her husband with apples during an argument.
Mary Tavarez was released on personal recognizance after pleading not guilty Wednesday to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police responded to a home late Tuesday night to investigate reports of a disturbance and found Tavarez’s husband on the front porch.
He told officers his wife had “gone crazy” and started throwing things. The MetroWest Daily News reports that police found several apples in the home with flat spots on them as if they had struck something. The husband was not injured.
The woman allegedly admitted grabbing apples from a basket on the dining room table throwing them, but said her husband shoved her first.
