104th Fighter Wing to Conduct Night Training
WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Those in the area of Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield may notice some increased air traffic over the next few days.
Senior Master Sgt. Robert Sabonis, public affairs manager for the 104th Fighter Wing, says that the unit will soon be taking part in some nighttime flight training.
The training is set to start on Monday, April 14 and will continue through Thursday, April 17.
The F-15s will launch from the Barnes-Westfield Regional Airport around 7:30 p.m. and are set to return around 10:00 p.m.
“The evening missions are a critical part of our required reoccurring training. The night-training is required to ensure our pilots are ready to respond to any airborne threat in the Northeastern United States, at any time, in any condition,” Sabonis adds.
