Western Mass Waking up to Some April Snow!

snowfall

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – The rain changed to wet snow overnight dropping a coating to 3″ on the ground. In greater Springfield there’s about a coating to 1″ however areas north and west saw as much as 3″ of snow, mainly on grassy surfaces. Southampton picked up about 2 1/2″ of wet snow.

The snow will be melting away quickly this morning with the strong April sunshine and rising temps. Having said that, it will stay chilly today with highs in only in the 40’s. It will be blustery today too. It will feel more like March than April! Make sure you have the thicker jacket on.
