SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Kennedy Middle School in Springfield was evacuated Thursday afternoon following a bomb threat.

Springfield School officials say that the threat was made against the Berkshire Avenue school around 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

Police responded and checked the school and found that everything was safe and an ‘all-clear’ was given.

Staff and students were allowed back into the building about 30 minutes later.

Springfield School Superintendent Dan Warwick adds, “Student safety is a top priory and we will always err in the side of caution to help protect our students and staff as best as we can.”
