Bruins gain 3-2 series edge over Canadiens


BOSTON, Mass (WGGB) — A pair of power play goals helped in anchoring a 4-2 victory for the Bruins over the Canadiens on Saturday to take a 3-2 series lead in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs on Saturday at T.D. Garden in Boston.

Reilly Smith and Jerome Iginla netted the two scores 32 seconds apart in the second frame. It is each their fourth goal of the postseason.

Carl Soderberg and Loui Eriksson added goals for the Bruins. Brendan Gallagher and P.K. Subban scored power play goals for Montreal.

The Bruins will try to close out the series Monday in Game 6 in Montreal. Puck drops at 7.
