Two Arrested Following Suspected Drug Deal on Greenfield Bike Path
GREENFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Two Greenfield men are under arrest after they were allegedly seen dealing drugs on a bike path.
Greenfield Police say that around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, officers were on patrol in the area of Forbes Court when they saw two men on the bike path allegedly involved in a drug deal.
When the suspects were approached by police, one man – identified as 23-year-old Kyle Bellows of Greenfield – took off running, but was able to be caught a short time later by police.
During the foot chase, officers saw Bellows reportedly throw objects, believed to be packets of Heroin, onto the ground.
As another officer took the other man – identified as 24-year-old Stephen Hall of Greenfield – into custody, police say that Hall also allegedly tried to toss Heroin packets on the ground.
A search by a police K-9 found two bundles of ten suspected Heroin packets and eight loose baggies.
Hall was arrested and is facing charges of possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute (Heroin), conspiracy to violate the drug law, and drug distribution in a school or park. Bail was set for him at $1,000.
Bellows was also arrested. He is facing charges of possession of a Class A substance (Heroin) and conspiracy to violate the drug laws. Bail was set for him at $100.
