40 Force: Stroke Awareness


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – It’s been called the silent killer and it’s the leading cause of death here in the US. The 40Force teamed up with area doctors Thursday night to keep you informed about strokes.

We had a group of doctors here at the station from Baystate Medical Center to answer any questions and concerns. Two of the most important words to remember about strokes is prevention and time.

“Cause someone might be able to get this new drug called TPA. That’s extremely time sensitive. The faster it’s done, the better and after three hours or sometimes four and a half, it’s just never done,” said Dr. Barry Rodstein from Baystate Medical Center.
